SuperThrift has taught me many valuable lessons. Besides learning how to streamline operations and manage a store, I’ve found the success of the store is only as good as the level of discipleship we offer the Teen Challenge students working with us. While making money and customer satisfaction is a priority, it is all for nothing if we cannot see our employees through some of their most trying battles, and encourage them in the Lord. Also important is our investment in the lives of SuperThrift customers and donors. Recently, we delivered two rooms full of furniture to a woman who had just left an abusive relationship, and God gave us that moment to pray for her and her family.
I love my job as Assistant Manager here. I find joy in knowing this is a place I can grow in Jesus. It is a place where I’m loved, where I’m needed, where I’m called, and where I belong.
